Meet the Directors

ANDRÉ VAN JAARSVELDT

André was born in South Africa in 1946. He pursued a career in banking. He obtained qualifications, both in accounting and bank management. He quickly advanced in his career and was sent across South Africa as manager, to improve the conditions of various branches. At the end of his banking career, Andre was a Personal Banker and Credit Analyst in a Regional Head Office of ABSA Bank South Africa.

André retired from Banking in 2006 and both he and his wife transformed a small Guest House and Conferencing Centre into a Four Star awarded facility. In 2018 André and his wife moved to Zambia, to join their sons at PDH Foundation. Today, André oversees Administration of both SIMPEL Real Estate Ltd. and PDH Foundation. He is also co-leading the discipleship and mentorship training of SIMPEL Real Estate staff.

WIIDA VAN JAARSVELDT

Wiida was born in Zambia in 1950. She studied in South Africa and specialized in Credit Control. Her husband was transferred often, and therefore she has had a wide variety of experience in different work sectors as a head of Department in Accounting, Debt Controller, and manager of Debtors Control.

After her husband’s retirement in 2006, they transformed a small Guest House and Conferencing Centre into a Four Star awarded facility. In 2018 Wiida and André moved to her home country, Zambia, to join their sons at PDH Foundation. She was appointed as the Finance Manager of PDH and SIMPEL Real Estate Ltd.

CHRISTÉL VAN JAARSVELDT

Christél was born in South Africa in 1980. She has a BA in Psychology & Tourism, and also received a Diploma in Teaching. She worked in Taiwan as a foreign language English teacher, and later as a primary school teacher in South Africa. After marrying Hannes in 2006, they moved to Zambia. They joined Operation Mobilisation, received discipleship and mission training, and then she got involved with community schools; training teachers, writing a school curriculum and managing the food project.

She is currently homeschooling her children and overseeing Urban Bliss Spa. Christél specializes in designing and building all SIMPEL’s landscapes on all their projects. Christél is also a majority owner and Director in SIMPEL Real Estate Ltd.

HANNES VAN JAARSVELDT

Hannes was born in South Africa in 1982. He studied B. Arch (Stud) in South Africa. He worked for an Architectural firm while studying in SA and then moved to London (UK) and worked for a Real Estate Developer. In 2005 he became involved in full time missions in Zambia. He married Christél in 2006 and they emigrated to Kabwe, Zambia in 2007, where they joined Operation Mobilisation. Later that year Hannes was appointed Developer, Architect and Project Manager over the construction of the OMZ Missionary Training College. Hannes became the associate Field Leader of OM Zambia in 2009 and later that year founded the largest income generating ministry, focusing on sustainable missions for all of OM Africa. In 2014 Hannes and his brother registered their first personal stock company and today Hannes is part-owner of 4 such companies in Zambia. He also serves on the board of Urban Bliss Hotel and the PDH Foundation. He is the principal founder of SIMPEL.
